Tony Cox-kyoshi is the Chief Instructor of Osaka Karate Kai, which is based in Dagenham, England. Cox-kyoshi is the rokudan, sixth dan, ichiban deshi of Hedges-kyoshi, both senior masters of shindo-ryu karatedo. He is also a respected board member for Zen Eikoku Shindo-Ryu Karate-Do Renmei and a shibucho (branch director) for Kodo Butoku Renmei. Cox-kyoshi toured Japan with Grayston-hanshi in 2004, demonstrating shindo-ryu karatedo at dojo throughout the country; following the tour, Cox-kyoshi renamed his kai to honour the people of Osaka.
