As the third son of the founder of shindo-ryu karatedo, Bradley Grayston-renshi started training
at the age of four, and at the age of ten became the
youngest person to achieve shodan, first dan black belt, in the history of the art, grading
under a panel of senior masters from around the world.
From the age of ten, Grayston-renshi was an assistant teacher at many classes in Essex and the
surrounding area, and by the age of 16 he became a fully qualified teacher in his own right.
Today, Grayston-renshi holds yondan, fourth dan, and the shogo (title) of renshi, awarded to him by
his father, Grayston-hanshi, and Shintaku-hanshi. He is also the youngest person within
shindo-ryu's history to have received the renshi shogo.
Along with his brother Marc Grayston-renshi, he regularly teaches children, and has
taught successfully on various courses throughout the United Kingdom,
Austria, Portugal, Greece and USA. As head of the
shindo-ryu display team, Grayston-renshi often co-ordinates displays
for events and charities in the local community.
Grayston-renshi is the Chief Instructor of Akakawa Karate Kai and holds shoshibucho (joint branch directorship)
for shindo-ryu karatedo in the Essex area.
In 2001, he was granted by Carslake-hanshi honorary acceptance to the house of
kyushoshinjitsu jujutsu.
