Marc Grayston-renshi is the second son of the founder of shindo-ryu karatedo, in which he
started training in 1988, at the age of four. At the age
of eleven, he passed his shodan, first dan, at the Natsu Kosu 1996, under a
panel of senior masters and teachers from around the world. Nine years on and Grayston-renshi now holds
the rank of yondan, fourth dan, and the title of renshi.
Beginning to teach by assisting at various shindo-ryu classes in his local area, in and around
Essex, Marc has gone on to assist on courses all over the United Kingdom,
and in countries such as USA, Greece and Portugal.
Currently, Grayston-renshi is the shibucho (branch director) for Shindo-Ryu Karate Kai
Essex, teaching various children's classes throughout the area. Grayston-renshi was
also part of a contingent of shindo-ryu teachers that
taught and demonstrated in Washington, DC, earlier this year.
Together with his brother Bradley Grayston-renshi, he staged the
first ever junior shindo-ryu course; together they have organised numerous other
children's courses and events, including the children's section of the shindo-ryu
20th anniversary celebration course.
In 2001, he was granted by Carslake-hanshi honorary acceptance to the house of
kyushoshinjitsu jujutsu
