Stratford-upon-Avon is synonymous with William Shakespeare, but there are many more attractions in this historic market town on the River Avon that will catch visitors' interest.
Stroll around the town centre, where major chain stores and independent retailers sit side-by-side, and there are many pubs, restaurants and hotels to offer sustenance.
Of course, many visitors to Stratford-upon-Avon come for the Shakespeare experience and there are five historic houses maintained by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
The town is also home to three theatres of the internationally famous Royal Shakespeare Company. And no visit to the town would be complete without a visit to Shakespeare's final resting place at Holy Trinity Church on the picturesque riverside.
You'll probably find that you'll have to extend your break to fit them all in!
